PS Plus Essential subscribers can now go ahead and claim July’s batch of PS4 and PS5 titles at no extra cost. Remember, to claim them all you have to do is click on the game and add it to your library. After that, you can download and play them at any time provided you still have an active subscription.
Fun fact: every mainline entry in the Borderlands series has been claimable at some point on Plus/Plus Essential over the years, along with a few spin-offs like the Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and Tales of the Borderlands.
While Borderlands 3 technically has a value of £59.99/$59.99 on PSN, the game is almost always on sale and can be found for £10/$10 or less.
The next game is NHL 24 which did reasonably well with critics, holding an aggregated score of 70 on Opencritic. The consensus is predictable: its a typical annual sports game. It’ll also be getting replaced fairy soon by NHL 25.
Finally, we have Among Us, the sensation that briefly seemed to take over the world. Considering this can be bought for a measly £5/$5 on PSN, without any form of sale, this one isn’t bringing much monetary value to the table. It’s still worth grabbing though, especially since it will be getting a fairly major update down the line when developer Innersloth evolves it into what was going to be Among Us 2.
That’s it for this month. Does anything grab your eye, or is July’s lineup just not for you?
